The largest operator was the flag carrier airline Philippine Airlines, which operated DC-8s on long haul services, with DC-3s, YS-11s, Vickers Viscount, DC-4 and F27s on the shorter haul and domestic Philippine services. Other airlines based from Manila in the 1960s included short lived Philippine airlines like Filipinas Orient Airways with their Nord 262s, YS-11s and even 707s, and there was also Air Manila with their Dart Heralds.

The airline scene in Japan during the 1960s was very exciting, as photo access was easy, and the domestic Japanese airlines had very nice colour schemes and operated an interesting mix of both old and new aircraft of the day. The commercial airliner photo scene was headquartered at Tokyo’s famous Haneda airport, with its sprawling open air viewing decks which were some of the best in the world. This collection of vintage Japanese airliners from the 1960s includes Japan Airlines, ANA All Nippon Airways, JDA Japan Domestic Air Lines, and some of the lesser known smaller carriers of the day too.

Conifair Aviation was formed in 1979 to perform aerial spraying and operates from St. Jean, just outside of Montreal. Initially, the airline operated two Lockheed 749A Constellations, with five DC-4s added between 1981 and 1985, and three DC-6s added in 1983. By the late 1980s the Connies were long since removed from service and offered for sale, and some of the DC-6s had also been sold.

The company was famous in aviation enthusiast and propliner circles for their Mont Joli – Port Menier (Anticosti Island) route for wildlife hunters every fall, using DC-4s. And this operation was featured on several ocassions in Propliner Magazines of the era.

The fleet was based at the Quebec City airport using a hangar adjacent to the Quebec Government Air Fleet hangar built in 1988. It is not believed that Conifair Aviation maintains present day operations.
