Customer Reviews - MEA Boeing 707 DVD: On Board & in Beirut Airline Profile Series Vol. 5 - Limited Edition DVD
CARTER KWONG, Toronto, Canada, JUL 27, 2005:
I bought a copy of your MEA 707 DVD, and I enjoyed it immensely. In fact, I remember first reading your Beirut article on Airliners magazine when I was younger (I still have
the magazine today!). As I have always been interested in Lebanon and
airlines, I practically bought that issue of Airliners just for your
article!
CHARBEL KHAZEN, London, UK, MAY 10, 2005:
I ordered the MEA 707 DVD a couple of months ago and wish to congratulate
you on this DVD with the most wonderful and rare shots of MEA and the old
BEY airport.
As you are aware both the airport and the airline have totally changed and
in this respect your DVD is unique in the sense that it would be impossible
to get such pictures and views today. The same would apply to the nice shots
taken at the old ATH airport.
Congratulations and I look forward to hearing about your future ventures.
GARY RUSSELL, UK, APR 25, 2005:
I recently ordered and received a copy of your truly excellent DVD "MEA Boeing 707 - On Board and in Beirut." Many congratulations on producing such an interesting and well put together film on these beautiful aircraft. I was knocked out by it completely!
Many thanks. Keep up the good work and I look forward to further business with you in the future.
CLARE BLACKLOCK, UK, JAN 26, 2005:
I received your MEA Boeing 707 DVD yesterday and thought it was excellent! The 707 has always been my favourite airplane, but I was never lucky enough to fly in one. At least I got a glimpse of what it must have been like.
NIGEL TULLY, UK, JUL 23, 2004:
On a stormy "Summer" London night the MEA DVD was my first viewing. I must tell you that it was all first class and most excellent viewing.
A lot of the "modern" offerings, whilst of course technically fine, are I think, very sterile. I liked the overall presentation including the background local knowledge and "off airfield" sequences. Whilst the 707s are the stars, it is the people and the places they fly between that make the whole operation necessary in the first place.
The "Lebanon Cedar Tails" have always been favourites of mine and the 707s were regular LHR visitors in the pre-Airbus days. I just remember the Comets before that, and the odd Convair visit. So the story that you captured of the MEA 707's last fling is a valuable record.
Whilst I love the old Propliners (looking forward to viewing the Northern Canadian and Alaskan footage!), it reminds me how much I miss a real 4 engined jet taking off; the interior cabin shots and sounds are also powerful memory joggers.
Thanks for recording the material in the first place, and for making it available for public consumption. Now off to 707 dreamland .. I hope!
